Bracknell Forest Library serves the town residents, servicing their reading needs and users of the surrounding areas. This Library welcomes readers and provides all the information and resources for the proper selection of reading materials.
Bracknell central Library is a beautiful place to visit just for its location, surroundings and books. It hosts fantastic readings and events, and the racks of books are well stocked; there’s even enough books to take along as you visit various museums and art galleries around the area. The layout is also quite pleasing, with ramps leading into sections and great views over the terrain.

- Library catalogue: The Read, Talk, Share campaign provides a brief digital catalogue for readers of all genres.
- E-books and Audiobooks: Use its online catalogue to find e-books and e-audio books in various formats for adults, children and adolescents, fiction and nonfiction, and study skills for college. You can also access e-books from home if you have a PC or tablet with internet access.
- Digital magazines, Comics & Newspapers: PressReader and RBdigital provide free access to thousands of magazines, comic books, e-books and newspapers. You can download replicas of selected titles to read offline using the apps or read online instantly using a web browser.
- Music streaming: Bracknell Library currently has around 15+ million music tracks covering all genres from rock, pop and dance to classical, jazz and rap. You can listen to free music for up to three hours a day.
The Library will be hosting a wide range of free virtual events outside of hours, including classes for both kids and adults and regular book groups, such as seated exercises and cooking lessons. It also offers an Easter Virtual Event to entertain family times on Easter holidays.
Facilities at Bracknell Library:
This Library has a ramped entrance. The books are in the form of large hardbacks, and they also have audio versions available. The accessibility tools available are also crucial when navigating the collection. The Library has an auxiliary aid called MsAccess that is also very useful for visual impairments or other mobility limitations.
Lifts: Visitors can easily access the lifts to visit the Library past the main entrance, which sits on the building’s G side. The ground floor lift is to the left and is a platform lift.
Study Tables: Bracknell Library has computers available for ample study time. You will be able to browse the internet, send emails, read newspapers and magazines, book a public PC or search catalogues and databases.
Book Packs For Kids: It has a selection of ready-made packs of five books each that you can borrow from the Library. Each package is suited to a particular age group, and there is at least one book in each pack by a local author.
BorrowBox: Here, you can borrow and keep up to 8 items at once for 21 days. Listen or read the audiobooks and eBooks available here for a loan from Bracknell Library.
PressReader: PressReader offers access to one of the world’s largest collections of online newspapers and magazines through a range of news, sports and lifestyle publications. It provides access to these e-newspapers and e-magazines from across the world in over 60 languages. You can even access more than a hundred UK and Irish newspapers such as The Times, The Guardian and The Daily Mail.
Any member of the Bracknell Forest Council area with an e+ card can join the Library for free. Visitors who do not have membership cards can get a temporary ticket.
